I love this time of year. The produce is incredible. This year’s peach crop is top notch. But it amazes me that when I go to buy sweet corn people still pull the husks back to peak at the kernels. And often, after peeking, they throw the ear back into the heap. Do these folks not know about Covid? This is disturbing! I would have thought that these kernel peekers would have gone away this year.
Our solution for this here at Uncle Tommy is for the store to charge extra for any ear where the husk has been pulled back. Otherwise, this activity will likely spread to other food such as bananas and plantain.
Worse yet, when kids see their parents do this they’ll think they can do it with packs of baseball cards. You read it here first…
