There's No Place Like Nome

I used to work with this guy who would do presentations and would always ask his audience what they thought was the greatest invention of all time. One person would say she thought it was the computer. Another would say the cell phone. Another might say…well, you get the idea. Eventually he would give his answer. And his answer was the thermos. We’d all look at each other with a look as if to say, “Who even uses a thermos anymore?” His explanation was intriguing: “The thermos is the best invention of all time because somehow the thermos knows whether to keep the drink hot, or to keep the drink cold.” Pretty amazing if you think about it.

Of course, now we have these insulated cups that are so good you can’t drink your coffee ‘til like 10:30. Like, the insulation is from NASA or something. Unless you live in Nome - Hello Alaska readers! – this insulation is overkill. Can we cut back on the insulation already?
