Back in the 20th century, Toyota and Chevrolet created
a joint venture and built an assembly plant in Fremont California. They built a
Toyota Corolla to sell at Chevrolet dealerships basically. Toyota was going to call
it the Toylet. True story. Some things don’t translate well, do they?
We have a Chinese restaurant nearby which is called The BM
something. Like PF Chang, only BM. The food there is good but I’m sure the
letters “BM” in their name don’t help business. You’d think their sign man
would’ve questioned them when they make the sign order. “Are you sure it’s not
MB? I kinda like the sound of “MB”, he probably said…
They probably get a
lot of crank calls asking them if they have a bathroom.
