Well, egg prices did not come down for Holy Week. So I imagine you're giving your children fewer eggs to color this year. Whereas you got 6 or maybe more to color when you were a kid, today’s kids are getting one or two eggs to color. In some households kids have to split an egg (you get one end, etc). And that means less egg salad for lunches next week.
So what’s the answer? I suppose you could always ask your grocer for their expired eggs. They should be free and there’s no reason why they can’t be boiled and colored. You might want to pick up a jar of peanut butter though ‘cause there won’t be any egg salad next week.
Just don’t ask me how to distinguish between expired eggs and brown eggs.
