A new Super Kroger just opened near us and everybody’s
talking. I’ve not been there yet but I’ve heard great things. They have 12 beers
on tap. This is the first store in town that’s had this attraction. And
apparently you can also sip on a glass of wine while you shop. This offers all
kinds of possibilities for us, the consumer, as well as for Kroger. It’s a big
step. Now we have something to do while we wait for our prescriptions to be
prepared other than reading those tired fantasy football publications in the
magazine aisle. And I like the
combination of alcohol and a pharmacist in the same building. I think a
pharmacist is far more qualified than a bartender to determine if a person is
sober enough to drive home.
So, yeah, this could really spur business (“Sorry sir.
You’ve had too much to drink. Do some more shopping and we’ll test you again at
10:00.”) This sounds like a win-win for Kroger.
